More Info: I have a permanent colostomy from advanced colo-rectal cancer which was first diagnosed in February of 2005. I had extensive surgery that May and awoke to find that the surgery was the "worst-case scenario" that my doctor had described. I would love to hear from others!

More Info: I would like to know others who wear a colostomy bag as I do get depressed at times managing the bag. It would be nice to chat with others who understands. Makes life a little better.

More Info: I got my "bag" 2 years ago due to radiation damage to my entire bowel system from cervical cancer when I was 25. The doctors did not warn me this was a possibility. Sometimes I feel just as overwhelmed now as I did right after surgery and having someone to talk to that understands would be very helpful. I feel I can also help others as to what they should expect, and the dangers of radiation, emotional issues, and just general questions they may have and in turn, I can use all the help I can get. I haven't had much of a support team here at home so I am looking to the internet for that support. Any and all chats welcome.

More Info: I have looked everywhere for a link between having salmonella, and getting a colostomy as a result, and have found nothing. How do I know the Dr. didn't just want the additional money that a reversal surgery would guarantee? It seems that the proper course of treatment for salmonella would be antibiotics. I had a hole in my colon, as a result of the salmonella, but why didn't he just sew it up, and put me back together? If anyone can answer these questions, please contact me!!
