Surgery: J Pouch
More Info: Hi,I was diagnosed with UC at age 10 and have had a j-pouch for almost 10 years now. I'm 20 weeks pregnant with my first baby and having absorbtion issues, particularly with fruits, vegetables and whole grains. I am taking prenatal vitamins several times a day. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I am also curious as to what happens to the pouch (does it get squished? Does frequency increase?) as the baby gets larger. I would love to hear from anyone who has been pregnant with a j-pouch!

Email: lafoncindyj@yahoo.com
Age:43
Country:West Virginia, USA
IBD:UC
Surgery: J Pouch
More Info: Hi, Hope you can help me. I have UC and have for about 6 years. Have tryed all your typical meds, Asacol, Colazal, prednisone, even Remicade. The Remicade put me in remission for 8 months but I also got Lupus symptoms and a high ANA. I am to go to Cleveland Clinic Sept 14 for the J-Pouch consultation and have been reading everyone's replys and don't know what really is best. Should I continue to put up with 15-20 bouts to the bathroom, the pain, incontinence etc. or go with the surgery? I know God is in control and I totally believe in Him. I just need some advice.
