Age:21
Country:England
Surgery: urostomy
More Info:  I've had my urostomy since I was 4 years old. My doctors have now discovered that I have two wombs after surgery to remove a cyst and revise my mitrofanoff. The left womb looks like it won't carry a child and I am not allowed to give birth naturally due to the fact they had to make me a anus when I was born. I was jusy wondering how this will affect me in the long run as I have an intermittent catheter and always get severve infections if the catheter is left in. Does the stoma close at all when you are pregnant due to your stomach expanding? Would really appriciate it if someone got back to me. Hope you are all well lauren x
there.

More Info: I am 51 years old and had to have my bladder removed last year due to bladder cancer. The cancer was contained to just the bladder, however, the cancer was aggressive and had invaded the muscle so the bladder had to go. I have also had to have one hernia surgery due to a hernia that developed under the stoma. Even though the doctor and nurses tell me I'm well and I can do anything I did before, I have to tell you that my energy level is not what it was before. I am overweight and the doctors also tell me that if I lost weight it would improve the way I feel overall. I have a wonderful, supportive wife, three children and three granddaughers. I'm thankful the cancer was found early. I'm glad to bel alive. Please feel free to talk to me. I'd love to hear your story.

Name: Aggie
Email: AggieVoosen@web.de
Age:28
Country:Germany
Surgery: urostomy
More Info: I have a urostomy since nearly two years now. When the ostomy was new for me I get a tip from my ET ... She told me that the bag will stick much better if the part that sticks on the skin is warm - so I get the idea to put the bag on the heater/radiator for some minutes ... and it works well! Now - in the summer (and the summer in germany is very hot this year) I hold it between my hands for some seconds to a minute ... it also works well. Many greetings from germany, Aggie
