Default Re: J-Pouch is Operational.....Sort-of!

Hi,

I'm sorry for my late reply, I've been unable to get online properly this last week! I'm glad my previous post helped and that you're so happy with your pouch so far

Just a comment about you missing being able to graze in front of the TV: I wouldn't have thought that grazing would be something you'd have to avoid. As long as you go carefully, and maintain moderation - graze with small amounts if you like! Sometimes I've found grazing better than attempting large meals.

You shouldn't need to find yourself hungry! If I were you, I'd have a chat with my doc - did they send a dietician/nutritionist to talk to you? If not, ask if there is one familiar with the j pouch surgery who you can talk to.

When we speak here of starting your pouch off with things in moderation, we certainly don't mean that you should go hungry! Just that you step carefully, and don't give your pouch too much to cope with too soon, you don't want to risk an obstruction, or end up with horrible diarrhoea!

Hope your pouch continues to do well,

Ali
